For those who desire enhanced performance, the SQ5 employs a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 delivering 349 horsepower through an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission. The lineup also includes a plug-in hybrid variant, the Q5 55 TFSI e, which combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. All models feature Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system as standard equipment.

The existing Q5 40 TFSI Premium trim includes 18-inch wheels with all-season tires, leather seating surfaces, heated front seats with power adjustment, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, three-zone automatic climate control, and LED interior lighting. Technology features include a 10.1-inch MMI touch display, Audi smartphone interface with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 4 USB ports, and a driver information system with 7-inch color display. Standard safety features include Audi pre sense basic and front, lane departure warning, and parking system plus with front and rear sensors.

Stepping up to the Q5 45 TFSI Premium adds unique 19-inch and enhanced exterior elements. The S line exterior package brings distinctive styling cues, while inside, occupants benefit from front sport seats with power lumbar support.

The performance-oriented SQ5 differentiates itself with standard 20-inch wheels, sport adaptive air suspension, distinctive exterior elements, and front sport seats plus with diamond stitching. The SQ5 Premium features carbon micro-twill inlays, while Premium Plus adds the Bang & Olufsen sound system and adaptive cruise assist. The SQ5 Prestige further enhances the driving experience with digital OLED taillights, the MMI passenger display, and seven additional digital DRL signatures.
