The 4x4 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is available in four trims: Base, Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit. The Grand Cherokee 4xe is powered by a turbocharged 4-cylinder 2L engine that produces 270 horsepower mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The addition of two electric motors increases the horsepower to 375. The all-electric range is estimated around 26 miles with the combined range topping out at around 440 miles.

All models feature an independent front and multi-link rear suspension systems and a unibody structure that has made the Grand Cherokee's frame very rigid. Key equipment on the Grand Cherokee 4xe includes a Quadra-Trac II 4x4 system, a Quadra-Drive II system with rear electronic limited slip differential, a water-sealed battery pack which Jeep claims will allow drivers to power through up to 24 inches of water, and an underbody that is protected with a reinforced housing to ensure its vital components can handle rugged obstacles.

Standard equipment on the base trim includes keyless entry and ignition, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated mirrors, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. An 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also standard.

The Trailhawk adds 3 skid plates, power folding side mirrors, two tow hooks in the front bumper, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, heated and cooled front seats, voice activated navigation system, adaptive cruise control, off-road speed control, as well as front and rear cameras. The Overland features a power sunroof, 20-inch wheels, leather seats, and a proximity key.

The Summit is the top-of-the-line version and includes chrome accents, auto-leveling headlamps, performance all-season tires, 12-way power front seats with massage, driver and passenger memory seats, illuminated sill-plates, separate dual-zone climate controls for the rear seats, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, an arial view camera system, and automated parking.

Standard safety equipment across the lineup includes 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, active head restraints, a full array of airbags, including full-length side-curtain and seat-mounted side thorax air bags, ParkSense with Stop, Blind Spot Monitoring, active lane departure warning, forward and rear collision mitigation, electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, hill-start assist, automatic headlights, trailer-sway control and tire pressure monitoring system.
